DV8 Offroad 882 Beadlock Wheels Part# 882B-7857320 Review
The following is a real world review of the DV8 Offroad 882 Beadlock wheels that I purchased at retail price approximately 20 months ago. I have almost 2 years of real world usage on the wheels and these are my personal opinions and experience with this product.
This is not a paid or sponsored brand review for DV8 Offroad.
DV8 Offroad 882 Beadlock Wheels part# 882B-7857320
17×8.5 5×5 bolt pattern 71.60 hub bore 3.96 backspacing -20 offset
When mounting the tires, I followed the step up bolt torque procedure for the ring in criss cross pattern (5lbs, 15lbs, 22lbs) and I recheck them every tire rotation (3000miles even though they have never backed out as of yet). Originally I was missing some ring mounting hardware for one of the wheels (could have been a return from where I purchased them from and not a DV8 Offroad issue) but I contacted DV8 Offroad support and they quickly sent me out a replacement pack.
With that said lets start out with the Pros :
- The DV8 Offroad 882 beadlock wheels are one of the lightest beadlock wheels out there weighing in at 40lbs each with rings.
- The rock rings are 5/8″ thick and the mounting bolts are recessed into the ring for protection from rock rash or snapping the heads off.
- The valve stem is recessed and protected from being torn off easily by rocks.
- These wheels work and function great offroad and secure the tire without issues at very low tire pressures (we ran them at 6lbs at the lowest).
While I really like these wheels, there are a few cons.
- I would have liked to have seen allen head bolts utilized instead of hex head bolts for the rock ring hardware as the spacing for a socket is extremely tight. (I will probably swap the hex heads out for allen heads when I replace my current tire set, NOTE: you will need a thin wall socket in order to tighten the hex head bolts that are included)
- The wheel design of the DV8 Offroad 882 beadlock wheels, while I like the look, it is a pain to clean with all of the slots, nooks and crannies in these wheels.
- These wheels do not have any drain slots in them and they do hold water. While this isnt an issue in the warm months, being located in the snow belt, you have to keep an eye on them otherwise snow and ice build up will throw your wheels off balance.
Overall, I would recommend these wheels and will more than likely be getting another set for my wife’s Jeep when it is time to do so.
4 rocks out of 5 only due to no drain slots being present
